When did I annoy you & how offend?

Why are 2 old white dudes running again?

How did my contact names get bolded blue?

Why's toilet paper cheaper than tissues?

What has happened to all our empathy?

Where does my TV find these memories?

Who is this they or them of whom we speak?

Where's my glasses? Where's my phone, where's my keys?

What, where, when, why & how are my questions.

Oh yeah & who said I have dimensions?

Evil Chewie

All my childhood I was told I was Bad
It took a long time to understand that
It was really my mother’s projections
Of all her own embedded rejections.
She had so much rage, she had so much charm
She had such courage, she caused so much harm
Called me Evil, the Bad Seed, & Cancer,
Beat the sh** out of me & no answers
To my rational protests except shame 
For I didn’t know what, accepting blame.
But today my wife called Chewie Evil
We laughed so hard it really broke that spell.
Poor lil guy was abused & forgotten,
Not knowing he was Good til we got him.

My friend Todd the hooker

In my physics class here came a cute guy,
Long hair, flannel shirt like me, I said hi.
His name was Todd & I sat next to him,
He was a stoner so we became friends.
The thing you noticed after you seen him
Is he had hooks where his hands shoulda been.
He was a tree-climbing kid & he fell
Reached out & grabbed some wires & went thru hell.
We’d all file in & I would share my notes,
& laugh cause he couldn’t read what I wrote!
Then as we filed out of class he would stand 
At the door & our wallets he would hand
Us back from all the pockets he had picked.
Okay yeah we had hands but he had tricks!

To young people we apologize

To the young people we apologize
For the climate we gave you, please know we tried.
The first Earth Day was 1970,
Bald eagles were an endangered species.
9 years old, our role models were hippies,
Demanding clean water, air & world peace.
We listened to James Hansen at NASA,
1988 he warned disaster.
We got behind electric vehicles,
Supported alternative energies,
Reclaimed, repurposed, reused, recycled,
Proclaimed & promoted such great ideas.
But now as our generation retires
here comes the thunder, here come the fires.

Walking on hot coals

I admit I was a bit skeptical
when my twin wanted to walk on hot coals,
I mean talking 1500 degrees!
There she went dancing across those babies 
& back too! I went OK, I'll follow –
our feet were frigid from the cold soil.
I figure, got it, this will protect me.
I run acrosst them coals, ooh, ow, ooh-weee!
I was so glad to get back on cold ground.
My toes all blistering, I'm melting down.
Jannie happily drives us in her stick,
my feet pressed against the cold windshield.
What about this I ain't gonna believe?
Everyone has their own reality.
