What is a sonnet but a scribbled verse
That just happened to pop into your head?
Written down by my me, or my twin, or worse
Based on a dream or what you may have said
Read from the back page of a paper, say,
or making it up as I write it down
Seen on a restroom door in Alex Bay
Counting syllables as I drive through town
Echoes of Edna poems read as kids
Stored away somehow in our twin-shaped brain
Memories we forgot were so well hid
That some sprout back like mushrooms after rain
I don't get the process, to be honest
I'm just here to learn to write a thronnet.
